A request of the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Belarus was considered by the Board of the Children of Asia International Committee.
On May 2, 2023 the Board made a decision to admit Belarus to participate in the 8th Children of Asia International Sports Games to be held in 2024 in Yakutsk.
As Mr. Vladimir Maksimov, President of the Children of Asia International Committee noted the Committee adheres to the position that young athletes should have an opportunity to compete with their peers from other countries:
The team of the Republic of Belarus successfully took part in the 2nd Winter Children of Asia International Sports Games in Kuzbass. The decision of the Board of the Committee on admission to the forthcoming Games in Yakutsk was made due to the mission of the Games that promote Olympic values and develop youth sports. Children should have an opportunity to take part in competitions and meet other athletes from other countries since such experience will undoubtedly be useful for them in big sport, Mr. Vladimir Maksimov said.
The 8th Children of Asia International Sports Games will be held in Yakutsk from June 25 to July 7, 2024.
