An alumna of the 6th Children of Asia Games, Bac Thi Khiem from Vietnam defeated Korean Kim Jandi in the quarterfinals of the women's taekwondo weight category up to 67 kg, but then lost to Chinese Song Jie in the semifinals. According to the results of the competition, Bak Thi Khiem became the bronze medalist of the competition.
Another alumnus, participant of the 5th Children of Asia Games, Syrian boxer Ahmad Gusun, also won a bronze medal among men in the weight category up to 80 kg.
