The President Children of Asia International Committee Mr. Vladimir Maksimov held a meeting with Vice-President of the Russian Climbing Federation Mr. Stanislav Lobzov.
The parties discussed the possibility of including climbing competitions in the program of the 8th Children of Asia International Sports Games which will be held in Yakutsk in 2024. The relevant application has already been sent to the Committee. To date, it is necessary to resolve the issue of the material and technical base for this sport.
- We are ready to consider the application of the Federation for inclusion in the program of the Games climbing competitions as a demonstration event. This requires a climbing wall that meets international standards. I think that this is a suitable sport for the residents of Yakutia, athletes, with proper training, will be able to become competitive, especially since rock climbing is popular today in many educational institutions of the city said Mr. Vladimir Maksimov at the meeting.
According to Mr. Stanislav Lobzov, the Federation of Rock Climbing of Russian Federation is already developing a project for the construction of a climbing wall, and during a visit to Yakutsk, possible options for locating the facility are being considered.
