For eight days, we actively supported young athletes who fought for victory in eight sports.

 We enjoyed spectacular competitions, witnessed intensity of the sports struggle.  All young participants showed great will to win.  But the most valuable thing was the atmosphere of friendship that prevailed during the competitions.  Sakhalin left the most pleasant impressions in our hearts.

 1,196 athletes from 20 countries took part in large-scale competitions in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, which were held under the patronage of the IOC and the auspices of UNESCO.  The best young winter athletes represented Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Nepal, Republic of Korea, Thailand, Hong Kong, Jordan, Tajikistan, Philippines, Japan, Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, UAE, India, Kuwait, Syria, Armenia.  Russia was represented by united teams of Sakhalin region, Sakha Republic of Yakutia, Moscow, Republic of Tatarstan, Republic of Bashkortostan, Siberian, Ural and Far Eastern federal districts.

 Young athletes competed for 93 sets of medals in eight sports - alpine skiing, snowboarding, biathlon, cross-country skiing, ski jumping, figure skating, short track speed skating and ice hockey.  The competitions were held at six sports facilities of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.  The competitions were served by 600 referees headed by two-time Olympic champion in boxing Mr. Oleg SAITOV.  A thousand friendly army of volunteers were involved in Children of Asia Games.

 The next 2nd Winter Children of Asia International Sports Games will be held in 2023 in Kemerovo Region.
