On November 14, a meeting was held between the President of the Children of Asia International Committee and the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports of the Kingdom of Bahrain, President of the National Olympic Committee His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
The parties discussed issues of developing children's sports, an introduction of new forms of education as well. According to the President of Bahrain Olympic Committee the country pays great attention to development of the younger generation, sports among children, and a lot of work is being done in the field of improving the nation’s health and promoting a healthy lifestyle among children and teenagers. |
During the meeting, Mr. Vladimir Maksimov informed about the 8th Children of Asia Games to be held in Yakutsk next summer. The Bahraini side expressed its readiness to participate in the upcoming Games.
The parties also discussed the possibility of carrying out educational projects of the Committee in Bahrain, including training programs in sports, Olympic education and psychological preparation of young athletes.
The meeting was also attended by the Secretary General of the Bahrain NOC, Mr. Faris Mustafa Al Kooheji, and Dr. Abdul Rahman Sadiq Askar, CEO of Bahrain General Sports Authority.
