Young hockey players from Uzbekistan arrived in Kuzbass to prepare for the 2nd Winter Children of Asia International Sports Games.

Training events will be held from 9 to 21 May 2022 on the basis of the Kuzbass Ice Palace and the Kemerovo Ice Arena named after the USSR master of sports in bandy and ice hockey Gennady Gruzdev.

“This is the first training camp in Kuzbass in preparation for the upcoming Winter Children of Asia Games. The team of Uzbekistan includes 21 hockey players born in 2007-2008 and two coaches. We also invite representatives of other Asian countries to get acquainted with Kuzbass,” said Mr. Alexei Puzynin, Head of the 2nd Winter Children of Asia Games 2023 Directorate in Kuzbass.

Young athletes are expected to train under the guidance of one of the experienced hockey coaches of Kuzbass – Mr. Artem Reznik, who played for the hockey teams Energia (Kemerovo) and Ufa, participated in Russian championships.

Training will take place both on the ice and in the gym. The team will be provided with a five-time balanced healthy meal and measured rest. Also, an extensive cultural and entertainment program has been prepared for the athletes. In particular, they will visit the Tomskaya Pisanitsa Museum-Reserve in Yashkinsky municipal district and Evgeni Plushenko Ice Show "Union of Champions", which will be held on May 14, 2022 at the Kuzbass Ice Palace in Kemerovo. 

Recall that the 2nd Winter Children of Asia International Sports Games will be held from February 23 to March 5, 2023 simultaneously in 4 cities of Kemerovo region: Kemerovo, Novokuznetsk, Mezhdurechensk and Tashtagol municipal district. It is expected that about a thousand athletes from Asian countries and regions of Russia will become participants. The program includes ten sports.
