A solemn ceremony of honoring the medalists of the 2nd Winter Children of Asia International Sports Games took place at the HQ of the NOC of Belarus. The Games were held in Kemerovo region - Kuzbass from February 23 to March 5, 2023.

The ceremony was attended by the President of the NOC of Belarus Mr. Viktor Lukashenko.

“The path to the Olympic heights begins precisely at this age. All our champions and medalists of the Games started the same way - since junior age. The competitions in Kuzbass gave you not only great performance experience, but also allowed you to find many new friends from other teams. For many of you, medals in Kuzbass are a good start for your career, and in the future, I hope we will see your portraits here at the NOC, in the Olympic Hall of Fame among famous Belarusian athletes,” Mr. Viktor Lukashenko said.

The Belarusian team won 1 gold, 5 silver and 5 bronze medals during the 2nd Winter Children of Asia International Sports Games.

“There were performances before the start at the Children of Asia Games, but it was the ski jumping tournament in Kuzbass that became the most important. Now, remembering my jumps, I am satisfied with how everything turned out, but there is still work to be done,” said Ms. Eva Bedritskaya, the silver medalist of the Games.

Speed skating coach Ms. Larisa Kazakevich noted the importance of such competitions, especially for younger athletes, and stressed that after the starts in Kuzbass, young people received good motivation for future performances.

"Competitions in Kuzbass helped us to get the necessary good practice, to check what our athletes are capable of. Of course, medals give confidence to our young athletes and coaches - everyone sees the results of their work. The guys are now very motivated, so if there is such an opportunity to go to high-level tournaments, it will help them grow their skills", - said Ms. Larisa Kazakevich after the awards ceremony.

Recall, more than 850 young athletes from 12 countries took part in the 2nd Winter Children of Asia International Sports Games, the Belarusian team was represented by 68 athletes. In total, 57 sets of medals were played at the Games.
