The parties discussed the prospects for further cooperation and participation of representatives of Belarus in the projects of the Children of Asia International Committee.
- Certainly, we are interested in the projects of the Committee. I am sure that the participation of Belarusian athletes and specialists will be useful for the overall development, Mr. Viktor Lukashenko said.
The President of the Children of Asia International Committee thanked the head of the Belarusian NOC for the invitation and attention to the projects of the Committee, one of which has been implemented for more than 26 years.
- This year we held the Summer Games, which were held under the patronage of the International Olympic Committee. We are open to the dialogue and welcome any interest in the development of children's sports. The leadership of the Committee adheres to a clear position that children should not suffer because of various kinds of political crises, Mr. Vladimir Maksimov said.
- The Russian Olympic Committee, as one of the founders of the Children of Asia International Committee, fully supports the interest of the Belarusian side in mutual cooperation on the preparation of a sports reserve through interaction with the Committee and, for its part, will make every effort to create favorable conditions for this cooperation, noted the Deputy General Director - Chief of Staff of the Russian Olympic Committee President Mr. Rodion Plitukhin.
During the conversation, Mr. Vladimir Maksimov invited the delegation of the NOC of Belarus to attend the fire-lighting ceremony of the 2nd Children of Asia Winter International Sports Games. The ceremony will take place on January 21st at the foot of the famous Lena Pillars in Yakutia, then the torch will be delivered to Kuzbass, where the Games torch relay will start on January 24th, which will pass through the entire territory of the competition.
Today's event was also attended by the First Deputy Minister of Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Belarus Mr. Alexander Dorokhovich, Acting Secretary General of the NOC of Belarus Ms. Ksenia Sankovich, Head of the International Relations Department of the NOC of Belarus Mr. Vasily Yurchik.

One of the main projects of the Committee is the Children of Asia International Sports Games, which have been held every four years since 1996 under the auspices of the International Olympic Committee and cover the entire Asian continent, as well as some European countries. The Games are organized to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the modern Olympic Movement on the initiative of the first President of Sakha Republic Mr. Mikhail Nikolaev.
In 2016, the Children of Asia International Committee decided to hold the 1st Winter Children of Asia International Sports Games, which took place from February 8th to 16th, 2019 in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.
The purpose of the Children of Asia Games is to promote the ideas of the Olympic movement, the development of children's and youth sports and the strengthening of international sports cooperation.
