There were 129 sets of medals in 16 sports: basketball, boxing, khapsagai wrestling, volleyball, freestyle wrestling, judo, athletics, mas-wrestling, international a checkers, table tennis, northern multiathlon, artistic gymnastics, sports dancing, archery, rhythmic gymnastics, chess, Yakut national jumps.

Since 2000, Children of Asia Games have had their own logo created by artist Sergei Lukin. The "A" abbreviation is taken as the main composition that unites all people of the Asian continent. Yellow is the color of Asia, which is why there is a yellow circle in the center of the logo. Three horizontal lines are painted in colors of the flag of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) which are also associated with the waves of the Lena River.

New sporting venues such as the Dolgun Swimming Pool and Yunost Athletics Hall were built in Yakutsk. Also Yakutsk State University’s brand new Natural Sciences Building and a 1,500 bed dormitory were put into operation by the beginning of the Games.
