History
In October 2019, the interdepartmental commission for organizing and holding international sports competitions in Russia, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Ms. Olga Yuryevna Golodets, decided to hold the 2nd Winter Children of Asia International Sports Games in the Kemerovo Region - Kuzbass. On December 19, 2020, the Governor of Kuzbass Mr. Sergey Tsivilev and the President of the Children of Asia International Committee Mr. Vladimir Maksimov signed an agreement on holding the II the 2nd Winter Children of Asia International Sports Games 2023 in the region.
The 2nd Winter Children of Asia International Sports Games were held from February 23 to March 5 in Kuzbass (Kemerovo, Novokuznetsk, Mezhdurechensk and Tashtagol region). 814 athletes from 12 countries took part in the competition: Armenia, Afghanistan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Russia, Tajikistan, Thailand, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan.
In total, 57 sets of awards were played in 10 sports: alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, сurling, speed skating, ski jumping, snowboard, figure skating, freestyle, ice hockey, snow volleyball.
The mascot of the Games was a lynx named Tikhonya. The official logo of the Games is made in the form of a hieroglyph, as a sign of respect for the writing of the Asian cultures. It also resembles an athlete, symbolizing the power of movement. In the hands of the athlete - the logo of the Children of Asia International Committee.
Also, within the framework of the Games, from February 23 to March 3, together with the Russian Olympic Committee, an Climbing Olympus educational program was held. More than 500 young athletes took part in it.
Lectures, games and master classes were attended by lecturers from Children of Asia International Committee, the Russian Olympic Committee, Russian anti-doping association RUSADA, the Association of Sports Psychologists.
