THE 4TH CHILDREN OF ASIA GAMES

History

The IV Children of Asia International Sports Games were held at a significant time - in the year of the XXIX Summer Olympic Games in Beijing. In addition, for the first time in the history of the Games, they were held in three cities: Yakutsk, Mirny and Neryungri. The Gornyak indoor stadium in Neryungri, the Kimberlite sports complex and the Triumph stadium in Mirny were built for the Games.

The competition brought together 1,854 athletes from 16 foreign countries - Azerbaijan, India, Indonesia, Iran, Jordan, Kazakhstan, China, Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Thailand, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Japan and 27 regions of Russia.

In total 184 sets of medals in 18 sports were played. In Yakutsk competitions were held in basketball, boxing, volleyball, freestyle wrestling, judo, athletics (including Yakut jumps), mas-wrestling, powerlifting, gymnastics, archery, taekwondo, soccer, checkers, chess, shooting (demonstration type). In Mirny - in rhythmic gymnastics, soccer, dance sport. In Neryungri - in basketball and table tennis.

A mammoth with a torch in its right paw, emitting flames of five tongues of blue, black, red, yellow and green colors - the colors of the Olympic emblem - was chosen as the mascot of the IV Children of Asia IUCI.

For the first time, the program of the Games included competitions in girls' basketball, freestyle wrestling, medley wrestling and wrestling.

  • Anna Alyabyeva (Kazakhstan) - rhythmic gymnastics. Two-time winner of the Asian Games (2010), six-time Asian champion (2009, 2011), participant of the Olympic Games 2012 in London.
  • Darya Dmitrieva (Russia) - rhythmic gymnastics. Silver medalist of the 2012 Olympic Games in London, four-time world champion, European champion (2011). 
  • Kristina Ustinova (Timofeeva) (Yakutia) - archery. Silver medalist of the World Cadet Championships, participant of the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
  • Tugtsogt Nyambayar (Mongolia) - boxing. Silver medalist of the Olympic Games 2012 in London, silver medalist of the World Championship (2009). 
  • Krishan Vikas (India) - boxing. Participant of the Olympic Games 2012 in London and 2016 in Rio, bronze medalist of the World Championship (2011), champion of the Asian Games (2010).
  • Lilia Akhaimova (Russia) - artistic gymnastics. Winner of the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, European champion (2018), two-time silver medalist at the World Championships (2018, 2019).
  • Valentin Golubev (Russia) - volleyball. Silver medalist at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, European champion (2017), winner of the Nations League (2019). 
  • Jung Young-sik (Korea) - table tennis. Two-time bronze medalist at the World Championships (2011,2017), silver medalist at the Asian Games (2010), two-time silver medalist at the Asian Championships (2012, 2015), participant of the Olympic Games 2020 in Tokyo.
