THE 6TH CHILDREN OF ASIA GAMES

History

6th Children of Asia International Sports Games, which took place in the capital of Yakutia from July 6 to 16, became the largest event of 2016 in the sphere of international cooperation in the field of sports.

6th Children of Asia International Sports Games gathered 35 foreign teams (Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Bahrain, Bhutan, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Ancient Olympia (Greece), Yemen, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Cambodia, Qatar, China, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nepal, UAE, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Syria, Tajikistan, Thailand, Turkmenistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka, South Korea, Japan and 7 regions of Russia (Ural, Siberian and Far Eastern federal districts, Moscow, Tatarstan, Bashkortostan, Yakutia), a total of 2,841 participants. The competition was officiated by a referee’s board, which included more than 700 referees.

A total of 211 sets of medals were awarded in 22 sports: basketball, boxing, khapsagai wrestling, volleyball, freestyle wrestling, judo, kurash wrestling, athletics, mas-wrestling, table tennis, powerlifting, shooting, swimming, trap shooting, sambo, archery, taekwondo, rhythmic gymnastics, football, chess, draughts, Yakut national jumps. 

It should be noted that the level of athletes' preparation has noticeably improved compared to the previous Games. Most of the athletes were selected from among the best athletes of the country and the region having right to participate in Children of Asia Games. Therefore, the winners and medalists of the Games are the best athletes of Russia and Asian countries.

  • Alina Adilkhanova (Kazakhstan) - Rhythmic Gymnastics. Winner of the Asian Games (2018), four-time Asian champion (2017, 2018), four-time medalist of the Asian Championships (2017, 2018), participant of the Olympic Games 2020 in Tokyo. 
  • Turan Bayramov (Azerbaijan) - freestyle wrestling. Silver medalist of the European Championships (2021), winner of the Summer Youth Olympic Games (2018), participant of the Olympic Games 2020 in Tokyo.
