In 2024, the 8th Children of Asia Games returned to their homeland and were held June 25 - July 7 in Yakutsk. For 11 days, 707 referees from 17 countries served the exciting sports battles. The competitions were held in 24 sports in which 30 teams from 25 countries took part. Athletes competed for 239 sets of medals. 1,900 volunteers were involved in 19 functional areas.
Competitions results
Following the results of the competitions the Uzbekistan team became the leader in medal stading and won 36 gold, 31 silver and 21 bronze medals. The Siberian Federal District team took the second place (31-31-32), and the Republic of Belarus team took the third place (27-21-30).
The program of the 8th Children of Asia Games included: athletics, 3x3 basketball, breaking and ten dance sport, mas-wrestling, rhythmic gymnastics, boxing, rock climbing, volleyball, mini-football, taekwondo, judo, kurash, swimming, sambo, wrestling, alysh, khapsagai, shooting sport, archery, chess, go, table tennis, kickboxing, and trap shooting.
In preparation for the competitions, a lot of work was done to improve the city, repairs were carried out at sports facilities and equipment was updated. Sixteen sports grounds were used for the Children of Asia Games in 2024. A multifunctional sports hall was built, and a climbing wall that meets all international standards was also built on the basis of the Dokhsun Sports Complex.
