Today, a basketball master class by Anna Pozdnyakova, a Children of Asia Games alumna and winner of the 3x3 Basketball World Cup, took place for the Games participants and Children’s and Youth Sports School No.1 students in Yakutsk.
The event was held as part of the Children of Asia Games Alumni Union project established by the Children of Asia International Committee.
«In addition to the Children of Asia Games, the International Committee runs educational programmes. This year, we invited distinguished alumni of the Games from previous years who have become world, Asia and Olympic champions. In many sports, we organise master classes for children from sports schools of the city and, in general, for all interested children. We have already held such master classes in Astana, Bishkek and Thailand», said Gavril Tsypandin, Director General of the Children of Asia International Committee.
Anna Pozdnyakova said that for her Children of Asia is a grand competition where every participant gets unforgettable emotions and impressions for the whole life.
«My goal in coming to Yakutia is the Children of Asia Games. I came as an alumna of the Games, in 2016 I competed in the 5x5 basketball competition and won bronze. These days I visited the 3x3 basketball competition and the Ysyakh national festival, and today I taught a master class for children. We worked on technique, the children asked a lot of questions, everyone really enjoyed it, and it's a great honour for me to be here. I wish all the athletes victories and good health, you will definitely make it».
