Today, on December 19, Mr. Vladimir MAKSIMOV, President of the Children of Asia Games International Committee, and Mr. Sergei TSIVILEV, Governor of Kemerovo Region, signed an agreement on conducting the 2nd Winter Children of Asia International Sports Games in 2023.

According to the document, the Games will be hosted by four Kuzbass cities: Kemerovo, Novokuznetsk, Tashtagol and Mezhdurechensk. Each of them will be hosting competitions in certain disciplines.

To date, the Games program includes seven compulsory sports - biathlon, cross-country skiing, speed skating (short track), ice hockey, snowboarding, alpine skiing and figure skating. The hosting side proposed to additionally include ski jumping, curling and freestyle.

Kuzbass with its favorable climate, snowy winters, transport accessibility of sports facilities, hotel infrastructure and catering facilities in candidate cities is able conduct a large-scale event.

Earlier, from December 15 to 18, a commission of the Children of Asia International Sports Games inspected sports facilities of four municipalities, where international competitions are planned: Novokuznetsk, Mezhdurechensk, Tashtagol, Kemerovo.

The 1st Winter Children of Asia International Sports Games were inaugurated in 2019 in Sakhalin region.
