Mr. Vladimir Maksimov and Mr. Aysen Nikolaev discussed preparations for the 8th Children of Asia International Sports Games to be held in Yakutsk, homeland of the Games, in 2024.  It is noted that new sports can be included in the competition program.

The Children of Asia International Committee approved 22 sports in which young athletes will compete. Mr. Vladimir Maksimov said that it is planned to include into the competition program demonstration sports such as alysh belt wrestling.

The Committee Board will consider the application of Belarus Olympic Committee to participate in the Games until June. Moreover proposal to include sport climbing, an Olympic sport, into the competition program to be considered in the close future. 

“Sport and accommodation venues have been determined. We expect that Yakutsk to host more than 3,000 participants from Asian countries and regions of Russia during the Games,” said the Head of the republic Mr. Aysen Nikolaev.

Children of Asia International Sports Games were established and first held in Yakutia in 1996. The 8th Children of Asia Games are scheduled to take place between June 25 and July 7, 2024.
