The Russian Olympic Committee hosted a working meeting between the President of the ROC Mr. Stanislav POZDNYAKOV with the new President of the Children of Asia Games International Committee Mr. Vladimir MAKSIMOV and Mr. Marat Bariev, Vice-President of the Committee, Deputy of the State Duma.

At the meeting, Mr. Vladimir MAKSIMOV spoke about activities of the Committee held during the pandemic and planned projects. In particular, he said that negotiations are currently underway to conduct Summer Children of Asia International Sports Games 2022 in one of the regions of Russia, as well as plans to organize the 2nd Winter Children of Asia Games scheduled in 2023. Kemerovo is considered to be as a host party for the Winter Games.

- The 1st Winter Children of Asia Games 2019 that took place in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk turned out to be very interesting and pleased with high results. Let me give you the following fact: some of the participants entered the Russian Olympic team at the 3rd Winter Youth Olympic Games in Lausanne and won 9 medals, including 4 gold medals, - said Mr. Vladimir MAKSIMOV.

Mr. Stanislav POZDNYAKOV, first of all, congratulated Mr. MAKSIMOV on his recent appointment as the President of the Children of Asia Games International Committee.

- The Russian Olympic Committee, being one of the founders of the Children of Asia Games International Committee, will continue supporting these competitions that have already proved to take an important place in the Olympic movement. We are well aware of our geopolitical role in bringing National Olympic committees of Europe and Asia together. We will keep on working in this sphere including with the help of the Children of Asia international Sports Games, - stressed the ROC President.

The President of Russian Olympic Committee also revealed an interesting fact from the biography of his youngest daughter. Being an athlete of the united team of Siberian Federal District she won a bronze medal in basketball during the 6th Children of Asia Games 2016. 

The parties agreed to continue a joint work to promote Olympic ideals among the younger generation through Children of Asia Games and to stimulate interest in sports and physical culture of children in Asian countries and regions of the Russian Federation located on the Asian side.
