Climbing Olympus: educational projects raising future champions

Climbing Olympus was inaugurated within the 2nd Winter Children of Asia Games in Kuzbass together with the Russian Olympic Committee. More than 500 young athletes took part in it.

Climbing Olympus educational project by the Children of Asia International Committee is aimed at promoting Olympic principles, familiarizing with the history of the Children of Asia Games, learning clean sports and strengthening friendly relations between young athletes.

More than 2,000 young athletes have become participants of the program. The Climbing Olympus was held in Kuzbass, Vladivostok, Yakutsk, Moscow, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Thailand.

The Sport Department of Kyrgyzstan, the Republic's College-Boarding School of Olympic Reserve of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Thailand, the Olympic Academy of Thailand, the Russian National Anti-Doping Organization RUSADA, as well as the Regional Anti-Doping Organization for Central Asia became interested in implementation of this program.

As the President of the Children of Asia  International Committee  Vladimir Maksimov noted that zero tolerance to doping, negativity of drug intervention and its consequences should be informed in early childhood: "The most important thing is to deliver it in a simple and accessible way for children. Such projects should be implemented at children's lessons, as well as pay attention to educating coaches in this area as a coach is always an authority for an athlete."

Lecturers from the Children of Asia  International Committee, the Russian Olympic Committee, the Russian National Anti-Doping Organization RUSADA, the Association of Sports Psychologists, and the Regionalb Anti-Doping Organization for Central Asia are cooperating within this program.
