The Children of Asia International Committee held the Climbing Olympus Educational Program in Bangkok, Thailand. It involved 50 schoolchildren from educational institutions in Bangkok.
The event was opened by Azat Myradov, Vice-President of the Children of Asia International Committee.
"It is crucial to develop such educational projects because they provide essential information to our children at the very beginning of their sports careers. The Climbing Olympus Educational Program encompasses all the necessary aspects for a child-athlete, providing them with knowledge that will be useful in the world of elite sports," Myradov said.
Dr. Arnon Wanla, a lecturer from the Olympic Academy of Thailand, spoke to the children about the history and fundamental principles of the Olympic Games.
"As the founder of the Olympic Games, Pierre de Coubertin, once said, the most important thing is not to win but to participate. It's important to help young athletes improve and educate them about Olympic values such as respect, friendship, and excellence. We aim to promote these values in Thailand," explained Wanla.
The "Future Champion" segment, led by sports psychologist Viktoria Georgiadi, provided the children with a unique opportunity to participate in psycho-technical games focused on personal effectiveness and teamwork.
"Psychological preparation is important and should never be overlooked. We have physical training, technical training, and tactical training. Psychological preparation is equally important, but it is often forgotten or left solely to the coaches who already have a lot on their plate. These Games are an excellent way to convey the message as they are suitable for both children and adults," emphasized Georgiadi.
Evgeniy Khristenko, a lecturer on the anti-doping program, conducted the "Clean Sport" segment. He noted that the project has already proven itself within a year.
"Thanks to this project, we increase knowledge of anti-doping rules and provide an understanding of how to compete and participate in sports events without using performance-enhancing drugs. We also teach athletes how to protect themselves and maintain their careers. Climbing Olympus Educational Program has established itself as successful, so I am sure it will achieve international success," stated Khristenko.
The Children of Asia International Committee has been running the Climbing Olympus Educational Program since 2023. The project aims to promote Olympic principles, introduce the history of the Children of Asia Games, promote fair sports, and strengthen friendly relations among athletes
