The Organizing Committee was headed by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation - Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District Mr. Yuri Trutnev.
The Children of Asia Games, initiated by the first President of Yakutia, Mr. Mikhail Nikolaev, have become a sought-after international project. The first Games were held in 1996 in Yakutsk. The 7th Children of Asia took place in Vladivostok earlier this outgoing year. For all the time, more than 13 thousand young athletes from Asian countries and regions of Russia took part in sports competitions.
- The Children of Asia Games are returning to their homeland, to Yakutsk, in 2024. The organizing committee was headed by the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District Mr. Yuri Trutnev. This indicates the great attention of the country's leadership in holding the 8th Children of Asia International Sports Games. I am sure that the Games will be held at the highest level, since Yakutia has a very extensive experience in holding international competitions, said Mr. Vladimir Maksimov, the President of the Children of Asia International Committee.
8th Children of Asia International Sports Games is planned to be held from June 25th to July 7th, 2024 in Yakutsk. In addition to the traditional 17 sports for the Games, at the initiative of the republic, 4 more sports are included in the competition program: kickboxing, clay shooting, dance sports and chess. At the suggestion of the Organizing Committee, the intellectual sport "Go" was additionally included.
- A year and a half is left before the 8th Children of Asia International Sports Games, and the republic must prepare for their worthy reception. The high level of the Games should once again confirm the status of Yakutia as a sports region of Russia, as a center of children's sports in Asia, said the head of Yakutia, Mr. Aisen Nikolaev, in his Address.
Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation Mr. Oleg Matytsin and the head of Yakutia Mr. Aisen Nikolaev have been appointed deputy chairmen of the organizing committee of the 8th Games. Organizational and technical support for the activities of the organizing committee is entrusted to the Ministry of Sports of Russia.
The Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation, together with the government of Yakutia and interested federal executive bodies, will develop an action plan for the preparation and holding of the Games.
The Children of Asia Games enjoy the patronage of the International Olympic Committee, UNESCO and the support of the Olympic Council of Asia, the Russian Olympic Committee and are recognized by UNICEF. The Children of Asia International Committee unites all 45 countries of Asia.
