NOC Belarus honored champions and prize-winners of the 8th Children of Asia Games

On September 25, the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Belarus held a ceremony honoring the champions and prize-winners of the 8th Children of Asia Games. The athletes in the Olympic Hall of Fame were congratulated by the President of the National Olympic Committee of Belarus Viktor Lukashenko and the Minister of Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Belarus Sergey Kovalchuk.

– Everyone is proud of your awards recalling the high results shown at the competitions. And, most importantly, you are proud of yourself and your achievements. In Yakutsk, you performed with our flag and coat of arms on your uniform, and the anthem of Belarus was played in honor of your victories. You have represented our country at these major competitions in the highest level. Without a team – coaches, parents – it would hardly have been possible to achieve these victories. In the permafrost zone, you felt the warmth of your close people, as everyone was supporting you. For many of you, these were the first such serious starts. Now you have thoughts that the highest sport is the path that you will follow and devote your whole life to. I am sure we will see you on Olympic pedestals, as well as among the champions and prize-winners of world championships and cups, various major sports forums. "We will remember these pleasant moments from Yakutsk," Viktor Lukashenko said.

The President of the NOC of Belarus wished all the champions, prize-winners and coaches success, a good luck, a strong will and always be proud of their results.

The athletes were awarded with money certificates. The young athletes' coaches who stand behind the success of their athletes were also honored.

– It's nice to be invited to the NOC of Belarus, where many of the guys are for the first time. We hope to be here more than once. It is great that the coaches who work with young athletes are also invited. Good prizes, we will spend them for improving our skills and preparing for the next starts," said swimmer Roman Galmak.

– In Yakutsk, everyone tried to show their maximum. We were proud to represent our country at these competitions. The Games gave many of us invaluable experience, we had the opportunity to communicate with our peers, share experiences," said four–time champion of the Games in athletics Anna Orlovskaya.

Recall that at the 8th Children of Asia Games in Yakutsk, young athletes from Belarus won 78 awards in 12 sports (27 gold, 21 silver and 30 bronze).
