On March 18, the President of the Russian Olympic Committee Stanislav Pozdnyakov arrived in Yakutsk. On March 19, he will attend the 8th Children of Asia Games Flame Lighting Ceremony at the foot of the Lena Pillars Nature Park.
- For us, as co-founders of the Children of Asia International Committee, participation in the Flame Lighting Ceremony is not only an honorable duty, but also a pleasant event where you can meet old friends and make new ones. I am confident that the Ceremony held in one of the most beautiful places in our country will be a success. The tradition of lighting the Games flame in Yakutia carries special symbolism, since the Flame unites all the children of Asian continent, who bring peace, goodness and friendship.
Also this morning, two-time Olympic champion in hockey, Ambassador of the 8th Children of Asia Games Vyacheslav Fetisov; two-time Olympic biathlon champion Anna Bogaliy; Olympic champions in hockey Alexey Gusarov, Vyacheslav Butsaev, as well as Olympic medalist Boris Mironov arrived to Yakutsk to attend the 8th Children of Asia Games Flame lighting Ceremony.
To recall, the Ceremony will take place 100 days before the start of the 8th Children of Asia International Sports Games.
