On December 13, 2023, the Permanent Representative Office of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) in Moscow hosted a presentation of the 8th Children of Asia International Sports Games for heads of diplomatic missions.

The event was attended by heads and representatives of diplomatic missions from 15 countries: Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, India, Iraq, Yemen, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Mongolia, Oman, Palestine, Thailand.

During the event the 8th Children of Asia International Sports Games program was presented. The Games will take place from June 25 to July 7, 2024 in Yakutsk and will bring together young athletes from all over the Asian continent.

Permanent Representative of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) to the President of the Russian Federation - First Deputy Chair of the Government of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) Mr. Andrey Fedotov noted that the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) is ready to welcome participants and guests of the Games on the highest level:

“For more than a quarter of the century, the Games have given the region a unique heritage: high-quality facilities for competitions, training, accommodation, and most importantly, they have raised entire generations of sports stars who have appeared on the horizon of the Olympic Games, world championships and tournaments. These people representing different parts of Asia, have one thing in common - Children of Asia Games.

President of the Children of Asia International Committee Mr. Vladimir Maksimov, in turn, emphasized the importance of this event, noting its role in development of children’s sports and international sports cooperation:

“The Games provide a unique platform for children in Asia to not only demonstrate their sports skills, but also strengthen friendship and understanding between different cultures, as sport has the enormous power to unite. I am confident that the 8th Children of Asia Games will be a successful and inspiring event for all participants.

President of the Russian Olympic Committee Mr. Stanislav Pozdnyakov recalled that the International Forum of Young Olympians, which the Russian Olympic Committee traditionally holds on June 1 on Children's Day, will be held during the Children of Asia Games in 2024.

— We decided to hold the Forum in an on-site format for the first time - young athletes will gain new knowledge about all aspects of development in the field of professional sports, because some of the participants may set themselves more ambitious goals, for example, to participate in Olympic Games. The task of all of us is to create every opportunity for young athletes so that they can realize their dream of participating in major international competitions.

Ambassador-at-Large, Special Representative of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation for International Sports Cooperation Mr. Mikhail Khorev is convinced that the Children of Asia Games are aimed at harmonious and comprehensive development of an individual.

“We all understand perfectly well that international sports competitions organized for the younger generation are of particular value. In addition to promoting an active and healthy lifestyle, they provide young people with good opportunities to make new friends, explore the world, and develop a sense of respect for the cultures and traditions of different countries around the world.

We are grateful to the heads and representatives of diplomatic missions for their attention to the 8th Children of Asia International Sports Games and express confidence in their successful holding. We invite everyone to take part in this iconic sports event and witness the sports friendship of Asian children.
