International Summit of Young Professionals in Sports Open in Sochi

International Summit of Young Professionals in Sports has started in Sochi within the XIX World Festival of Youth and Students. The Opening Ceremony was held in the Main Media Centre of Olympic Park on Sunday.

President of the Russian Olympic Committee, Member of International Olympic Committee  Mr. Alexander ZHUKOV, Member of State Duma of the Russian Federation, Vice President of the Children of Asia Games International Committee Mr. Marat BARIEV, President of the Children of Asia Games International Committee Mr. Dmitry GLUSHKO, President of the Association of Martial Arts Pencak Silat Princess Jasel KIRAM, member of the Executive Committee of Syrian Olympic Committee Mr. Ibrahim ABAZID, Secretary General of National Olympic Committee of Turkmenistan Mr. Azat MYRADOV, Executive Secretary of Nepal Olympic Committee, Secretary General of National Fencing Association Mr. Sujan Lal Shrestha participated in the Opening Ceremony..

"Young sports figures gather here who have already determined for themselves that they will be professionals in sports. It is very important to learn, share ideas about organizing competitions. "Children of Asia" is a good platform for this, "said Mr. Alexander ZHUKOV.

Mr. Dmitry GLUSHKO thanked Mr. Alexander ZHUKOV for holding the Summit: "This summit is really important for the people who are involved in development of children's sports." Also at the Opening Ceremony Children of Asia International Sports Games were represented.

The summit is unique since there is no a specialized platform for young professionals in sports. The event is attended by representatives from 16 countries: Afghanistan, Bahrain, Bhutan, Kazakhstan, Cambodia, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Pakistan, Palestine, Russia, Syria, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, France, Philippines. The organizers are the Russian Olympic Committee and Children of Asia Games International Committee.
