Today, the Head of Yakutia, Mr. Aisen Nikolaev, in his annual address to the State Assembly (Il Tumen), declared 2024 the Year of Childhood. This means that the year will be dedicated to supporting and protecting children's rights, their development and well-being.
One of the key events of 2024 will be the 8th Children of Asia International Sports Games to be held in Yakutsk. Mr. Vladimir Maksimov, President of the Children of Asia International Committee, said:
"The declaration of 2024 in Yakutia, the Year of Childhood shows the special attention of the republic's leadership to the issues of upbringing of the younger generation, support and development of childhood, which is fully in line with the ideas of the Children of Asia International Sports Games and the message of the First President of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia), the founder of the Games, Mr. Mikhail Nikolaev, in terms of the development of children's sports."
Thus, the declaration of 2024 as the Year of Childhood and the holding of the 8th Children of Asia International Sports Games in Yakutsk promise to become important steps in supporting children and their development in the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) and beyond.
