As part of a working visit to the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, the President of the Children of Asia International Committee Mr. Vladimir Maksimov held an informal dinner with graduates of Children of Asia Games of different editions. The meeting was also attended by Ms. Liliya Akhaimova, the Olympic champion and winner of the 4th Children of Asia Games in artistic gymnastics and Mr. Merey Akshalov, world and Asian champion in boxing, participant of the 3rd Children of Asia Games.
During the meeting, graduates of the Games, many of whom are current members of the national teams, and coaches shared their memories of participating in Children of Asia Games, what emotions they experienced during the days of the competition, told about the impact of the project in their sports career and shared their impressions about development of the Children of Asia Games and the mission of the Alumni Union.
During the meeting, the winners of the Games of different editions were awarded Champion’s badges of Children of Asia Games. Recall that at the beginning of 2023, the Board of the Committee approved a champion’s badge of the Games. The badge is made in the form of the logo of the Children of Asia International Committee framed by an olive branch, as a symbol of peace and victory.
Mr. Vladimir Maksimov, President of the Children of Asia International Committee, expressed gratitude to athletes for remaining involved in project of the Committee, as well as other projects aimed at the exchange of experience between adults and young athletes, at improving the skills of young athletes and at strengthening international sports cooperation. One of such projects is the Children of Asia Games Alumni Union, established this year. The President of the Committee expressed confidence that the meeting participants would take an active part in the life of the Union and the Committee.
Recall that, as part of the work of the Alumni Union, Olympic champion Mr. Lilia Akhaimova and world and Asian champion Mr. Merey Akshalov held master classes in gymnastics and boxing for students of sports schools of the Olympic reserve of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan.
