The history of Mas-wrestling at the Children of Asia Games began in 2000. Mas-wrestling is a type of martial arts originated in Yakutia. Its essence consists in the pulling of a stick by two athletes. Athletes sit down against each other; their feet abut on a board and by the command of the referee try to pull over the opponent on his side or to pull out a stick from the opponent's hands. Victory is declared when one of the wrestlers manages to pull the opponent or to pull out a stick from the opponent’s hands.
